What can she use for extent cramps?

I have a 12 year old step daughter that just started her term a couple months ago. Personally I was never a heavy bleeder so I never got cramps resembling she's been getting. I told her to take some Tylenol, use a hot water bottle or clutch a hot bath but none are working. She says exercise doesn't help much. Is nearby anything else she can do?
Best Answer: Severe period pains should always be investigated to check for a treatable cause. As a rough guide, if your step daughter have had severe period pain (known as dysmenorrhoea) since around the time her period first started, it's less likely a particular lead to will be found. There are exceptions to this. Conditions such as endometriosis can sometimes cause severe pain from an early age (although the dull pain typically gets worse as the disease does more damage with respectively monthly cycle). Other causes include fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease and sometimes a narrowing of the cervix. Bear in mind, though, that period pains are on the odd occasion a sign of disease, especially in younger women. If the pain interferes with her existence, preventing her from going to school or coping with daily tasks, I would recommend you consult beside a doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation. I suffered from severe period pains from the day I started my period at age 13 and be finally diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007. Good luck :)
Personal experience with severe extent cramping from age 13. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2007.

Answer:

Ovarian Cyst removed - With 8 inch incision...

I know it sounds startling to say since she is so young but I have have a couple of friends who had severe cramps and heavy, irregular bleeding--they started taking Birth Control Pills ( the doctor suggested ) and they have be much happier ever since. The cramps are significantly less painful, if not gone completely, and their period are regulated, lighter, and shorter. I didn't start taking the pill until I was 19 and it really has helped me so much. (I also didn't seize my period though until I was 16). If thats too far of a jump, later try talking to the doctor. Maybe she should get checked to make sure she doesn't enjoy anything else going on. The doctor might also have better suggestions as to what is most appropriate for her. Hope she feels better!
