Tampons and swimming?
I am taking a life guarding class in a few weeks and it is the week my period is supposed to start...I hold had my period for almost 4 years now, but I own never used a tampon. So my question is what are the chances of the tampon leaking? The class is 5 hours beside a break in between, and during that time I will change it, but will the tampon stay?
I can't take the class at a different time because it is merely offered once every two months and I need it to be a lifeguard this summer. So do you think I should just skip the class completely and find something else to do this summer or will I be okay near the tampon?

Best Answer: apon starting your period the day that you will be taking the class apply a tampon to see how it responds to your flow. voice if you have a class at 6pm , apply a tampon around noon and change 2 and a partially hours later if ther eare no leaks in between your appropriate to go. if so then you might ask for a bathroom break in between the break and at partially time to quit. there are different absorbancys and it all depends on how much you are going. there is also a box that have light , regular , and super. super being the strongest and keep contained by mind the larger of the three . it being your first time i would go with regular obsorbancy. and the plastic applicators are the most undemanding to apply. also make sure you do one application before because sometimes there is already fluid that will escape after you apply but not a whole lot. and yes it will stay just make sure your string isnt showing: ) . you will be fine, supply it a try.

This is exactly why tampons are wonderful. They generate it so you don't have to skip things like that! Just make sure you hold the string tucked away in your bathing suit... nothing more embarrassingg than having it baggy out!

I suggest using the tampon. It's going to feel somewhat odd at first wearing one, but you'll bring back use to it rather quickly. Tampon leaks really do depend on how bulky your periods are; get the appropriate tampon strength. The tampon should stay, just receive sure it's in all the way beforehand you leave the bathroom. Don't skip out on this class basically because of a tampon! These things are made pretty well these days, lol. I have a really calorific first few days usually, and a super tampon lasts my entire work shift. It's usually seven hour stretches. Of course it will. Just change it at the break and use one of the really absorbent ones and you will be fine. Don't skip just because of your period, you'll need to swot up to use a tampon if you are going to be a lifeguard. For most women, their period will stop or slow down a lot while in the dampen. But you do need to have a tampon in to be on the safe and sound side. Purchase the smallest you can with a plastic apllicator, this will make it easier to put in. Follow the instructions on inserting the tampon and be sure to read the information give or take a few TSS. Definately check it on your break and change it. Using smaller tampons means you may have to loose change it more often. It won't leak unless it is too full or absorb any outside sea. You shouldn't feel it once it is inserted.
