What is this?!?!?

I go to Family Planning to bring back my depo shot today. Well, they done a pap smear and found that I hold a budding yeast infection. They smeared my vaginal walls and the other cog of my vulva near this purple stain. What the crap is it? How does it work? I know it kill out the budding infection, but does anyone know what it's call and how it works?
